The children had plenty of time to explore many of the interactive displays that fill the hallways there. They used a hoover to lift themselves up and generated their own electricity using a hand crank, which powered lights, a train, and a radio. The children were able to conduct different tests involving powerful magnets, as well as many other exciting science experiments.

They were then given a tour of two of the domes that house the telescopes. We were lucky enough to see the roof open and rotate to face different sections of the sky—although it did make the room very cold!

After lunch, the class headed into the Discovery Park, which featured some amazing outdoor experiments that they could get involved with. Here, they had great fun trying out different tasks while waiting for their turn to take part in the Robotic Arm Workshop. In this workshop, the children learned how astronauts carry out repairs on the International Space Station and the skills they would need to operate the machinery.

Overall, both the children and adults had a fantastic day, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
