We are a one form entry primary school which was established in September 2013 and we pride ourselves on being at ‘The heart of the Community’.
Our website has been designed to provide all the essential information about our school and we hope that you find it easy to use. It is regularly being updated with news, events and all the key dates for the year but If you do have any enquiries, or require a hard copy of any of the documents available, please contact Mrs Fischer-Tsang via the school office.
Year R-2 were thrilled to have a visit from local author Phil Henry to read his story 'The Big Blue Blob.' The children enjoyed sharing the story and asking Phil about his process for writing as well as his future plans for more books. Some were even inspired to create their own blobs! We look forward to reading Phil's upcoming stories 'Keeper of the Realm' and 'Carrots of the Piratebeing' - illustrated by our very own Miss Chapman!
Billy Class have really loved being outside for the first session of our whole school environmental projects. They were amazed to see what our nature cameras have spotted and could identify lots of different night time animals. We went for a walk around our school grounds, learning how to look after each area respectively, listening to the different sounds outside and collected different natural objects such as leaves, twigs and stones.
Mr Michael organised a special trip to the Houses of Parliament for some of our Year 6 pupils. The children had to write a letter to explain why they thought they should be given a place and then Mr Michael help us to choose. The children put across some convincing arguments: some talked about women's votes, others discussed family connections with Westminster and some also talked about the importance of democracy. We had a tour when we arrived and got to visit the House of Lords. After lunch, we met our local MP - Sojan Joseph - and we asked him many questions about his job and his ideas...
Angora class had a bin-credible afternoon with Jolene from County Style Recyling learning about litter. We learned about the effects of litter on the environment and thought about what we can do to encourage others to reduce littering. We then went litter hunt where we litter-ally found lots of rubbish hiding in bushes and fences around the school perimeter! To raise awareness of littering we created our own posters to display around the school environment.
