This term, the children have been learning all about our local area. They took part in fieldwork walks to explore the surroundings of the school, practising observation and simple navigation skills. We also had a visit from our local PSCO and learned about how he helps us in our community.  In Science, the children investigated different materials and discussed which materials are best suited for particular purposes. 

We greatly enjoyed reading On Sudden Hill, which inspired the children to write letters to the characters to offer help, as well as taking part in an exciting box role-play day. In Design and Technology, the children learned how to join fabric together to create their own puppets.

The term has also been filled with festive celebrations, including our Christmas production of Born in a Barn and a special visit to Godinton House for a magical Christmas experience.
