Mr Michael organised a special trip to the Houses of Parliament for some of our Year 6 pupils. The children had to write a letter to explain why they thought they should be given a place and then Mr Michael help us to choose. The children put across some convincing arguments: some talked about women's votes, others discussed family connections with Westminster and some also talked about the importance of democracy. We had a tour when we arrived and got to visit the House of Lords. After lunch, we met our local MP - Sojan Joseph - and we asked him many questions about his job and his ideas for Ashford. We travelled by train, walked over Tower Bridge and past the Tower of London and then got the Uber boat down to Westminster Pier. On our way home, we walked past Downing Street and Horseguards Parade before getting the train at Charing Cross. We had an amazing day!
