We had a visit into school from a beekeeper who brought in an observation hive of honeybees for us to see. She let us smell the honeycomb, look for the queen, listen to the sound of 3,000 bees moving around inside the hive, and taste two different honeys. She showed us her beekeeper gear and told us loads of facts about honeybees! We also went to Godinton house to look for bees, fortunately they seemed to be well trained so two of them posed nicely behind their identification photo for us! We listened to a story about bees and then created our own fuzzy paper bees to go and pollinate the garden. One of our paper bees even shared a flower with a real bumble bee, who didn't seem to mind at all!
