Welcome to Goat Lees Primary School

We had many visitors in during our careers week, to talk to us about our own aspirations. To kick start our week, we had 10 visitors from Primary Futures. We had to guess what their job was, and then Year 5 & 6 had a speed networking session with them.  Some of the jobs included were neuroscientist, finance manager, and food technology specialist! We also had the police and the fire service, and some of our parents kindly came along to speak to various classes about their own jobs. Year 1 and 2 had a workshop delivered by the Ashford BME association. The children were taught how to beat a rhythm on the drums and were also able to ask some questions about life in Africa to help them with their topic for this term. We had a fantastic time - thank you!

Four children from year 6 entered the maths competition at Explore Learning. Although we didn't win, the children were praised for their exceptional teamwork. Well done, we're very proud of you!

On the 9th of January we took a team of six children from Year 4 to a dodgeball competition at Highworth Grammar School. They played four games in total one being a warm up game. We won three out of four games and the children played exceedingly well coming joint 1st in the group stages but unfortunately another team had won their game against us and went through to the finals. However, our team weren’t too disappointed and they came away with a sense of achievement of trying their best and showing great sportsmanship.  A big well done to the year 4 dodgeball team, you were amazing. ...
