We are a one form entry primary school which was established in September 2013 and we pride ourselves on being at ‘The heart of the Community’.
Our website has been designed to provide all the essential information about our school and we hope that you find it easy to use. It is regularly being updated with news, events and all the key dates for the year but If you do have any enquiries, or require a hard copy of any of the documents available, please contact Mrs Seal via the school office.
The children were invited to bring in a bulb from home and we had a lovely afternoon planting summer flowering bulbs in our school planters, especially when we got our hands covered with soil! We learnt which way we needed to put the bulb in the ground and we made sure it was covered with lovely compost before giving them a good drink. We can't wait to see which flowers pop up!
Year 3 had another visit to Godinton House as part of their growing project. This time we got to taste 3 different soups - minestrone was our favourite! We then had a look at the raised beds where we are going to plant our vegetables so we can make our own soup in the future.
We have received a grant from the tree council to plant hawthorne and weeping cherries at the bottom of the field. We are also planting fruit trees at the front of the school so we can grow a community orchard offering fruit to our local community. We were taught how to space them out and how to protect them from being eaten.
Our fabulous catering team put on a lovely spread for our Christmas lunch. We had pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings, stuffng, brussels, lots of gravy and so much more! The dessert was absolutely delicious too - we almost needed a nap afterwards and that was just the staff! Lots of fun was had with the crackers and we all wore our party hats. Thank you to everyone involved.
